Status of Recovery
From the outside our church looks like we have completed the rebuild from Hurricane Michael in 2018. It is not finished. Only half of the building interior is rebuilt. A quarter is usable but needs to be remodeled. A quarter, the fellowship hall, is just an empty shell. It is an unfinished space.
To do the 1st floor east half of the building which includes the fellowship hall we have an estimate for $650,000 from an architect. I feel $750,000 is more accurate based on how much it cost to do the west half of the building. We are praying for $1,000,000 so we can do the upstairs of the east half as well.
We had a goal of $130,000 to replace the kitchen electrical and build out the fellowship hall (HVAC, electrical, sheetrock, painting, and etc.). Once we talked to a general contractor we needed to break up the project. We have a goal of $95,000 for the fellowship hall. Praise the Lord, we can begin on the fellowship hall. Contract is signed and if all goes well the fellowship hall will be finished before Thanksgiving. Please pray that no issues come up that might increase the cost or delay the project.
Update: Praise the Lord, the fellowship hall is done and we had some money left to go towards the kitchen.
We have a goal of $90,000 for a kitchen remodel (electrical, plumbing and HVAC) and stair case replacement (it is to steep per the code). The $90,000 is a rough estimate. We will get a detailed estimate soon. Praise the Lord, as of September 2nd we are one third the way to the rough estimate goal.
Please continue to pray for us. The bathrooms still need remodeling, a great deal of electrical that needs to be upgraded and class rooms that need HVAC.
Goal: $90,000
Goal: $86,287
Pray for us.
