Part-Time Youth Minister

PART-TIME YOUTH MINISTER

OVERVIEW

The primary requirements are for an individual that has a solid faith in Christ and a love for youth. We are open to working with someone who sees this as an intern position while in college to someone who already has a full time career in the area and wishes to work with youth.
The primary goals are to lead youth to be personally responsible in their relationship with Jesus and to take an active role in the church body.

ON CAMPUS SCHEDULE

Sunday

  • Lead youth Sunday school class
  • Set an example in both worship service

Wednesday Night (Suggestion)

  • Bible Study 20 minutes
  • Recreation time 20 minutes, youth breaks into small groups according to their chosen to play games, basket ball and etcetera.
  • Group game time 20 minutes

Schedule Monthly Event (?4th Sunday Night?)

  • Eat, Bible Study 30 minutes, Recreation

MINISTER OF YOUTH PERSONAL MANUAL

Principal Function

The Minister of Youth is responsible to the Pastor and The First Baptist Church of Callaway for planning and developing a comprehensive educational program for grades six through twelve (6-12).

Responsibilities

 

  1. Plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate the youth ministries of the church through church program organizations
  2. Work with youth leaders to plan a program for leading students to a knowledge of the plan of salvation and to develop them in Christian nurture
  3. Lead in planning and conducting special age group activities and programs appropriate for the spiritual growth of the church, such as discipleship training, drama, retreats, camps, fellowships, banquets, mission activities, etc.
  4. Promote a regular program of visitation for the youth division in cooperation with the overall church visitation program
  5. Participate in the staff visitation program to prospective members, potential leaders, hospital, and crisis situations
  6. Study and make recommendations for needed changes in the youth division, such as organizational changes, equipment and furnishings needs, and policies and procedures of operation
  7. Study new materials, programs, curriculum, and educational methods for youth, and make recommendations as feasible
  8. Assist the Stewardship Committee in preparing the annual youth budget and administer the budget according to policy
  9. Visit middle school and high school campuses for personal contact and counseling with youth when appropriate
  10. Serve as a member of the Church Council
  11. Perform other duties in cooperation with the Pastor
  12. Write a monthly article for Newsletter
